Grace Day’s musical journey began in the lively streets of Galway, Ireland, where she
was first pulled on stage at an open mic. Though she’d been writing songs since she
bought her first guitar at 12, she was initially too shy to sing them publicly.
Galway’s thriving street music scene changed that, inspiring her to find her voice and
join a band. Though the band was made up of friends, it gave her confidence
and a love for performing live.
At nineteen, she went solo, debuting with her first single, “Better Guy,” a bold track
about a college breakup. Music has been her way to express emotions she finds
difficult to share—having grown up in a culture where wearing your heart on your
sleeve isn’t the norm. A year in Bordeaux, France, led to another song inspired by a
brief romance, strengthening her passion for writing music that connects with her
travels and experiences.
Drawn to Nashville by its rich tradition of storytelling, Grace moved there in 2019 on
a whim, despite not knowing anyone in the city. Now, with her second single from
her upcoming EP, she’s exploring the complexities of friendship instead of romance.
After the success of her song “Irish Goodbye,” which resonated for its raw take on
farewells, Grace is preparing to release her second EP ‘American Dreamin.’
Influenced by songwriters like Taylor Swift, Phoebe Bridgers, Noah Khan, and classic
storytellers like Dolly Parton, Grace combines wit, honesty, and her Irish roots in a
style all her own.
“I started off making music for enjoyment but it’s grown into turning it into a
career! I’m making music because I just fundamentally need to in my being, and
want to grow my existing fanbase by sharing my journey”
With live shows lined up and her highly anticipated EP on the horizon, Grace is
poised to make an even bigger impact on the Americana pop music scene as
she continues to evolve and resonate with her ever-growing audience.
